# Superbrain

> A shared workspace for the links, notes, and projects your team works with every day.

- Web page: https://documentation.federated.computer/superbrain/

Superbrain collects links from any application or website in one place, together with your notes about them. You can tag each link, give it a due date, move it across a kanban board, attach it to a contact, and gather links into pages and project collections. It's included with Federated Core.

Superbrain is published at an address such as `https://superbrain.example.com`. The exact address is listed in Superpanel.

## What you can do with it

- **Save bookmarks.** Any web address, including links to a file in Nextcloud, a ticket in FreeScout, or a task in Plane, with a title, Markdown notes, tags, and a due date. See [Bookmarks, tags, and the calendar](bookmarks/).
- **Write pages.** Markdown documents that gather related links, with a `/` menu for headings, lists, and to-dos. See [Pages](pages/).
- **Run projects.** Collections turn a set of bookmarks into a table or board with your own columns, such as status, owner, or priority. See [Collections](collections/).
- **Share.** Share a bookmark, a tag, a calendar date, or a collection with colleagues, or publish a single bookmark as a public link. See [Sharing](sharing/).
- **Watch email and get notified.** Flag a bookmark when matching email arrives, sync contacts from Nextcloud, and send alerts to email, Slack, Matrix, or Telegram. See [Email, contacts, and notifications](email-contacts-notifications/).

## Signing in

On Federated Core, Superbrain uses your organization's single sign-on. Open the Superbrain address and choose to sign in with Authelia, then use your usual username and password. See [Accounts and signing in](https://documentation.federated.computer/getting-started/accounts-and-sign-in/).

Your Superbrain account is created the first time you sign in. Colleagues appear in Superbrain's sharing lists once they have signed in at least once.

## Finding your way around

The sidebar on the left holds:

- **Views**: All Bookmarks, Calendar, Tags, Kanban, Contacts, Collections, and Trash.
- **Pages**: your pages, with pinned pages at the top. Hover over a page for actions such as New subpage, rename, pin, and delete.
- **Settings**, for your email, Nextcloud, and notification settings.

Press **Ctrl+K** (or **⌘K** on a Mac), or select **Quick find**, to search across pages, bookmarks, and tags, jump to any view, or run a command such as creating a new page.

The bell in the top bar lists bookmark alerts that are due. To get them as desktop notifications too, allow notifications when your browser asks.

## Getting started

1. Sign in and select **New**, then add a bookmark for something you're working on. Give it a tag and, if it has a deadline, a due date.
2. Create a page for a current project and link a few bookmarks to it.
3. In **Settings**, connect your mailbox if you'd like to be alerted when email about a bookmark arrives.
4. Share a tag with a colleague so you can both add links under it.

## AI in Superbrain

Superbrain is designed to become the place where Federated Core's AI features meet your team's knowledge, for example agents that read the links and notes you've collected. Those features are not available yet. Superbrain today is a workspace you organize yourself: it doesn't send your bookmarks, pages, or email to any AI service.

For what's available across Federated Core now, see [AI on Federated Core](https://documentation.federated.computer/getting-started/ai-on-federated-core/).

## Superbrain is open source

Superbrain is developed by Federated Computer and its source code is public at [gitea.federated.computer/Federated_Computer/brain](https://gitea.federated.computer/Federated_Computer/brain). Like every application on Federated Core, you can take it with you: use **Trash → Export all data** to download everything you own as a single archive.
